                             Designed by architect Wirt Rowland, it was completed in 1929.

                                                                                                  Postmarked 1970
                                            Dear Pat,
                                            Having a great time staying in a motel.  Trees are
                                            huge here and still lots of color.  I won $2.40 in a
                                            Buck-up game.  Love, Mom

                   Beaver Island, "America's Emerald Isle", is the most remote of all the inhabited
                   islands in the Great Lakes.  A large percentage of the 600 year-round residents
                   are of Irish descent.  The Beaver Island Boat Company starts its ferry season on
                   April 1st...

If you seek the muse divine...

  NATIONAL MUSIC CAMP
Interlochen, Michigan

         This is the famous Interlochen Bowl during the season's final concert.  Here over 1,000
         campers perform Liszt's Les Préludes before a huge audience.
                                                                                                                          -camp photo
                       This postcard was sent by a camper to her parents on August 12, 1966.
                       ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Oh, sound the call
To dear old Interlochen,
Land of the stately pine.
Where stalwart hands
And Loyal ever greet thee,
Faithful for Auld Lang Syne.
Old friends you'll meet,
New ones you'll greet,
A welcome you'll ever find.
So sound the call
To dear old Interlochen,
Shrine of the muse divine.
