If you seek a Speed-E-Postcard...

Postcard of the Mackinac Bridge with Nancy and John, September 4, 2011.

Kalamazoo friends John and Nancy were up north recently, and stopped in at
Indian Village in St. Ignace.  Amidst the souvenirs and artifacts sits a little stuffed
bear in a box, outfitted with a motion sensor.   As you walk by, he asks, "Would you
like to have your picture taken?"

You can choose from several background scenes and click! your picture is captured on
your very own customized postcard (2/$5.00).

They said that the bear wastes no time snapping the pictures, so you have to hurry to
compose yourselves in front of the camera!

This Speed-E-Postcard was created just for you at Indian Village, 499 N. State St., St. Ignace, MI

Thank you Nancy and John for sharing your postcard with CIRCUMSPICE MICHIGAN!

If you seek a magical island...

                                                 BUS RIDING ON MACKINAC ISLAND
Only Greyhounds on Mackinac Island are the four-legged kind.  This is the bus you'll ride there.
-Postcard from the 1960s by Benjamin of Mackinac Island.

The first settlers named Benjamin ran the blacksmith shop on Mackinac Island, starting in 1885.

Descendants purchased a photography and gift shop in 1950 and made it their own!
The Benjamins also produced their own line of postcards like the one seen above.
Benjamin Photo and Gift Shop is still in the same location on Main Street.  Visit their
charming website for vintage and new postcards, photographic prints, and books on
Mackinac Island history.
